Last night at Awana we had a “Thanksgiving Party”! It was pretty much a lot of fun for the kids. There were different activities that they could do and snacks they could eat. It was pretty cool. One of the activities was making a leaf and writing what you were thankful for on it and then putting it on a tree that was taped to the wall. (see picture below) I thought this was a brilliant idea! It’s easy for us to get caught up with what we have OR even what we don’t have and forget to be thankful for it. I am thankful for Awana, for the leaders that help and especially the kids that make me week
Another note…..The past three weeks I have been teaching on the armor of God and looking at the different analogies “Paul” uses when describing the armor and what they stand for. After talking for three weeks I told the kids I had a surprise for them and to make sure they came this past week. Wanting the kids to see a real soldier I had my cousin Kris Hoffman, who is in the National Guard, come and talk to them. He then explained what the National Guard was about and talked a little bit about what he did there as well as the armor he wears. It was a blast and the kids had fun.
