“Into the Light” -Inspiration-

Every time I sit down and open up my bible, I feel at peace.  I feel as if I am at rest in God’s word.  Not only does it refresh me and refine me, but it encourages and corrects me.  Many times, if not all the time, I find myself “inspired” by what I read.  Many ideas usually form in my mind as I read, ponder and soak in the truth the Bible contains.  I often find myself inspired when I run.  I usually feel relaxed and I let my mind wonder as I enjoy the different beauty around me.  I found myself inspired today as I was running down “Owl Road” (the road leading to my home).   Today as I was coming home from our neighbor’s house “inspiration” hit me like an apple falling from a tree.  How amazing is it when God plants an idea or “inspiration” in your heart or mind?  Think of how special that thought is, that amazing idea that is God breathed and sent right to you.

That blows my mind when I think about it.  The ideas and thoughts “He” has given me to write these posts have been purely His alone.  When I spend time with God asking for His “inspiration” and His help I always end up finding something unique or out of the ordinary to write about.

So all that being said here is my thought for you.  God has so much that He desires to do through you, but are we paying attention to that?  Do we really see how we can be better Christians and better “inspiration” to the world?   Do we use the “inspirations” He gives us?

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

                                                               -1 Peter 4:10

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

                                                              -James 1:17

Think about the different talents, abilities and gifts you have!  Think of the “inspiration” that comes from using them.  How do you use your “inspirational” gifts?  Do we use them for the enjoyment we get out of them or do we use them to bring glory to God?  I think God has a very unique purpose for “inspiring” people, and we need to be more attentive to that.  “Inspiration” is such a cool feeling, especially when it’s from God.  Not only does it make us excited and motivated, but it encourages others around us as well.

I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that”

                                                            -1 Corinthians 7:7

We each have our own gifts and we all have our strengths and weaknesses, but I encourage you to be “inspired” by God’s word.  And I pray that you would find “inspiration” to serve God in many ways.  But don’t just wait to be “inspired” look for ways to “inspire” your self go out and search for it.  Better yet, ask God to “inspire” you and give you ideas.  After all, He’s got the best ideas for us, and if we would only listen and follow His ideas, His “inspirations” and His way our lives would be radically changed.

We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action.  -Frank Tibolt

 What’s your “inspiration”?

One Response to “Into the Light” -Inspiration-

  1. Katelyn says:

Love. I get inspired to love people as God loves us by listening to them, telling them I love them or through my actions. I love to love others for God.
