“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
2 Peter 3:9
Often times we our hindered by those two little arms on the clock. Time can be such a nuisance sometimes. It’s easy to complain about how we never have enough time to do anything. I often find myself rushing to get things done because I don’t have enough time to do it, but when it comes down to it we have more then enough time. It’s what we choose to do with the time we are given that counts.
It’s hard waiting on God to provide. It seems like His schedule just doesn’t work with ours most of the time, but that’s really NOT the case….it’s our schedule that doesn’t work with His. He has a perfect plan that is all laid out in the order in which it’s going to happen and at the exact time it’s going to happen. We can complain about not having the answer soon enough and we can be as impatient as we want, but that’s not going to make God go any faster or slower in the way He works. When I find myself impatient and in a hurry, I always remind myself that I need to set my clock to God’s time, slow down and wait. When we live life in the fast lane we miss all the things God wants us to be aware of in the slow lane….the patient lane.
Patience is a vital thing in being a follower of Christ and trusting Him. In order to wake up everyday and know that He will provide everything in it’s time for you, we need to have patience. Because it is only with patience, hope and prayer that we will be armed to endure the wait. With this attitude of patience our eyes are opened to the beauty of His working plan around us. In the end we will then be able to look back at the time we spent longing for the answer and agonizing over every waking minute to find that the wait really wasn’t that bad and that through the waiting we learned patience, faith, trust and hope. God is so patient with us, but we are so impatient with how He does things. God’s time is not always as quick as we want it to be, but it’s is the perfect time. There is no way we can expect any less then that. Open your eyes and really look at how perfect everything falls into place during the day sometime and you’ll see the little things that all work together and build up towards the master plan. He does things at the right moment and He provides our needs when we actually need them. We need to trust Him and have faith that He will provide, because He will….in time
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
-Psalm 27:14
I think you mean GTZ (not S)…
A couple other verses that this wonderful thought brought to my mind are:
“Submit to God and be at peace with Him; in this way prosperity will come to you.” -Job 22:21
“He has made everything beautiful in it’s time. He has set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” -Ecclesiastes 3:11
It’s so true that we just need to submit to His time table and be at peace with the wait, however long or hard it may be.
Thanks for the thought Sky!
