My girlfriend and I have this continuing battle of who can surprise each other the most. I raised the bar a little bit with this years Christmas gift. I designed a “12 days till Christmas” gift. Each day she had a small present to open and it lead to the final gift which she had to come see me for. I surprised her with tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra show in the Twin Cities the following night. I may not have set the record of biggest surprise in the world, but for my girl I won bonus points for an amazing night!

Dad for a day…

Two weekends ago I had the opportunity to do some baby sitting for my pastor and his wife. They have three wonderful children. Their eldest is Malin, their second oldest is Aiden and their youngest is Vienne (almost 2). Having 3 younger siblings of my own, I wasn’t to concerned about watching three younger children. I watched them from 7am till 9pm and enjoyed every bit of the day. It made me very thankful that I do not yet have kids, but also made me appreciate the time and energy my parents put into me and my siblings EVERY day of my life growing up. At one point I was washing dishes with one hand while holding Vienne in my other arm and keeping my eye on the other two and was feeling rather stretched! However, at the end of the day I was thankful for the experience of being a dad for a day

First Visit To Kiwi’s Nest

When I first met my girlfriend Ali Ballweg one of places she talked about most besides home was a place called Kiwi’s nest. She frequently posted seasonal pictures of this “captivating creation”. I have been wanting to take a trip to Kiwi’s for a rather long time and we finally had the opportunity to venture there together last weekend. It was indeed as beautiful and amazing as she described and I have since then become attached to the place myself. My camera ran out of battery (wouldn’t you know it) right as we started walking down the creek, but I did catch a few pictures…

A trip to Camp

Every summer I always spend a portion of my vacation up north at a camp that is located on Mirror Lake. It’s about 2 hours west of Duluth, MN. I was there for three amazing weeks this summer and got a lot of pictures and participated in a lot of fun activities. I have a lot more pictures on Facebook, but these are some of what I took.

Summer Weekend

I spent this past weekend with my Girlfriend’s family and enjoyed a lot of different events. We celebrated a birthday party at her cousins, a 50th wedding anniversary for her grandparents at her aunts and then a fish fry with some of her aunts and uncles. I got some good pictures at the 50th Wedding Anniversary that involved horses, a water fight and a very beautiful and eye capturing flower garden.
